I am a mixed media artist with a long time foundation in photography and the commercial printing industry. Blending years of experience in creative markets and commercial print manufacturing led me to become a maker of artwork that is made from photo prints on varied media with acrylic amendments, image transfers to different substrates or just photos and creating different ways to present the work.
Here’s an example, long trip made short with some pictures
the original photo was from a street scene in Japan that caught my eye because the tombstone maker had set up business right next to the bar ......... the work took a couple of directions
Old book engravings came to mind and working with a copy and transfer medium I produced a monotone print. It’s an imperfect process that yields different results from the same original that will often exhibit texture and transfer gaps that are interesting.
There were a variety of colors in the original scene I thought to enhance or change by printing on canvas and painting over with acrylics.
Not quite photoshop tools, but an interesting result!
